Serve the City Recap

STC - 2021/03 by Emmaus Church

On March 27th, a group of volunteers from Emmaus headed across the street to Eagle Creek for an awesome day of service. They had the chance to meet with local families in the apartment complex and invite them to our Easter services while throwing a big block party. Several families came out to the block party, and it was a blast. There were lots of activities for the kids to enjoy with their families and with the volunteers. As you can see in the pictures, there were activities like face painting and art supplies to decorate bags, but there was also basketball that some of them enjoyed. At around lunch time, everyone got together to pray for lunch and to enjoy a meal with each other. -- As you can see, there were tons of hot dogs made! -- Anyways, during this time of eating together and relaxing as food settled in their stomachs, the volunteers shared the Gospel with everyone as well as the meaning of Easter and the glorious truth of what the empty tomb means for those who believe in Jesus' name. They also used this time to encourage the kids to trust in King Jesus and follow him! After that, the kids got to have fun doing an egg hunt while some of the volunteers spent time talking with the parents. Overall, it was a wonderful day to hang out with the families at Eagle Creek and to serve them and witness to them in this way!
