Starting in June, our annual summer discipleship program returns to Emmaus Church with a brand new lineup of courses. Summer Specials exist to give you a chance to grow as a follower of Christ through topic studies on on critical spiritual issues. They also are a great way to experience community at our church, allowing you to meet new people and develop meaningful friendships. Summer Specials will happen here at Emmaus on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm starting on June 7, 2017. Childcare is provided for those who register. Most classes will meet six weeks, concluding on July 12 (Financial Peace University will last 9 weeks).
You & Me Forever: Marriage in Light of Eternity
We live in a culture that often fails to see marriage as the beautiful and missional institution that God intended. Even followers of Jesus can quickly wander a few steps away from the true eternal focus our Lord wants us to have. This course will use a video series from Francis & Lisa Chan as well as 36 years of experience in our own marriage to help set a new focus for your marriage. Our prayer is that God might reveal some practical steps we can all take to stay in love with Him and each other.

Becoming a Disciple that Makes Disciples
When Jesus returned to the Father, He left us with one core mission that should define our lives more than any other: "Make Disciples." However, we often fail to walk in obedience to this task because we don't understand what discipleship is or how we can engage in it. In this course, we will dive into God's word to answer three simple questions: What is a disciple? What is discipleship? And how can I engage in making disciples? Join us as we seek to become obedient disciples who make disciples!

The Reason for God:Belief in an Age of Skepticism
This course will follow a video series of the same name developed by Pastor Timothy Keller as he meets with a group of people over six sessions to address their doubts and objections to Christianity. Using literature, philosophy, real-life experiences, and the Bible, Keller and the group explore the truth of Christianity. This study will help you learn how to engage others in dialogue on six common objections to Christianity—it is a resource for what to say in response to these objections, and a model for how to say it.

A Unique Voice: Songwriting Workshop
Every Sunday, we worship God with songs that extol his character, grace, and glory. Have you ever stopped to consider where these songs come from? In this workshop, we will learn the fundamentals of writing original music by exploring techniques and strategies of songwriting. Then, we will have the opportunity to work with peers in the process of actually writing original music for Emmaus Church. If you have any interest or skill in music, poetry, or writing, please join us!
